Spamalot, the award -winning hilarious musical “lovingly ripped off” from the film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, will have four performances in the Northeast Kingdom presented by the Vermont Family Theater at the Municipal Building in Orleans, VT. – Saturday, April 5th at 7pm and Sunday, April 6th at 2:30. and the following weekend at 7pm on Friday and Saturday, April 11th and 12th. Tickets are $10. Adults and $8. Seniors & Students. They can be purchased at the door or reserved online at vermontfamilytheatre.weebly.com or by phone at 754-2187. Orleans Municipal Building is wheelchair accessible.

Get Ready for the I Love Winter Festival!

snowmanCelebrate everything there is to love about winter in the center of the Kingdom at the second annual Barton Area I LOVE WINTER FESTIVAL this Saturday, February 22.  This year’s events start with an Ice Fishing Derby from midnight on Thursday, February 20 until noon on Saturday February 22 on Lakes Willoughby, Parker, Crystal, and Shadow. Two Adult & Two 15 and Under Winners will win $250 worth of cash and prizes at the Festival Afterparty at Parker Pie on Saturday night!

Most festival events will take place on Saturday, February 22 at sites around the Barton Area.  New this year is the Chamber Chili Challenge!  Judge the culinary skills of local Chamber Members at the Community National Bank and C&C Parking Lot in downtown Barton from noon to 2pm.  Cost is $5.00 per spoon for All You Can Eat.  Saturday’s events also include Heritage Craft and Blacksmithing Demonstrations, Winter Kid Crafts and Refreshments at the Old Stone House Museum in Brownington from 10am-2pm; Sleigh Rides and a warm-up fire at the Perry Family Farm in Brownington from 10am-2pm; Outdoor Recreation and Refreshments at the Glover School from 2-5pm; and Fishing Derby Awards and Live Music with LR Rocks at the Parker Pie Co. in West Glover from 6:30-11pm.  Click HERE for more information and a map of the festival route.

Currier’s Quality Market: 1 Main St., Glover VT

Willoughby Lake Store: 2003 Rte 5A, Westmore VT

Prizes awarded for two largest adult fish (by weight) and two largest 15 and under fish (by weight) of any of any eligible species. * All entries MUST have valid Vermont fishing license. All VT F&W rules and regulations must be adhered to or immediate disqualification of entry.  Ties will be determined by length.  Live fish will not be accepted.

Eligible Lakes/ Ponds:  Crystal Lake, Lake Willoughby, Shadow Lake, Lake Parker

Eligible Species & Min. Length:  Lake Trout 24″, Salmon 20″,  Rainbow & Brown Trout 20″,  Northern Pike 28″,  Yellow Perch (no min.)

Prizes will be awarded Saturday, February 22 at 6:30pm at the Parker Pie Co., 161 County Rd. in West Glover, VT. If winners cannot be present for the Awards Ceremony, prizes will be mailed.
