Celebrate everything there is to love about winter in the center of the Kingdom at the second annual Barton Area I LOVE WINTER FESTIVAL this Saturday, February 22. This year’s events start with an Ice Fishing Derby from midnight on Thursday, February 20 until noon on Saturday February 22 on Lakes Willoughby, Parker, Crystal, and Shadow. Two Adult & Two 15 and Under Winners will win $250 worth of cash and prizes at the Festival Afterparty at Parker Pie on Saturday night!
Most festival events will take place on Saturday, February 22 at sites around the Barton Area. New this year is the Chamber Chili Challenge! Judge the culinary skills of local Chamber Members at the Community National Bank and C&C Parking Lot in downtown Barton from noon to 2pm. Cost is $5.00 per spoon for All You Can Eat. Saturday’s events also include Heritage Craft and Blacksmithing Demonstrations, Winter Kid Crafts and Refreshments at the Old Stone House Museum in Brownington from 10am-2pm; Sleigh Rides and a warm-up fire at the Perry Family Farm in Brownington from 10am-2pm; Outdoor Recreation and Refreshments at the Glover School from 2-5pm; and Fishing Derby Awards and Live Music with LR Rocks at the Parker Pie Co. in West Glover from 6:30-11pm. Prizes awarded for two largest adult fish (by weight) and two largest 15 and under fish (by weight) of any of any eligible species. * All entries MUST have valid Vermont fishing license. All VT F&W rules and regulations must be adhered to or immediate disqualification of entry. Ties will be determined by length. Live fish will not be accepted.

Prizes will be awarded Saturday, February 22 at 6:30pm at the Parker Pie Co., 161 County Rd. in West Glover, VT. If winners cannot be present for the Awards Ceremony, prizes will be mailed.
There will be a blood drive at the Barton United Church next to the Barton Graded School on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 1:00 pm – 5:30 pm. Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or visitwww.redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are welcome.

The 15th Annual Moonlight Madness Holiday Shopping Fair will be held at the Barton Graded School on Saturday, December 7 from 10-4pm. Santa and his helpers will be there for photographs with children and the young at heart from 1-3pm! Local vendors will offer a wide variety of craft and food items, and lunch will be available for purchase. The day will culminate in a raffle of locally made gifts. The Barton Graded School is handicap accessible. Come on down to Barton, meet your friends, enjoy wonderful music, and cross some items off your holiday shopping list!

It’s that magical time again! Time to register for the annual Moonlight Madness craft fair. Due to vendor feedback from last year, only items handmade or baked by the vendor will be allowed (no “white elephant” items or imported items). Get your registration in early. Spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
46 8×8 foot spaces will be available. Chairs will be provided. Please provide your own table. If you are selling food items, you might be down in the cafeteria Soup and sandwiches will be sold by one of the local schools.
Raffle Table: Each vendor is asked to donate an item to the raffle table. If you need a receipt for your donated item, it will be provided. Set up time starts at 11am.
REGISTRATION FEE: $10.00 per space
